Did You Miss The Parent Meeting? Here's A Recap....

IMPORTANT ASSESSMENT INFORMATION

Please have your player attend the session below that applies to his grade and bring a water bottle.  Please plan to arrive 15-30 minutes early to check-in.

  • Parents MUST accompany their sons into the school to check-in, order uniforms, pay fees and submit any missing paperwork.  However, parents will NOT be allowed in the gym during assessments. 

Attendance to both assessment days are strongly encouraged.  If your son is unable to attend one or both of the grade level practice assessments, please plan on attending the make up session on Saturday, September 23rd at Badger Ridge Middle School.

Uniforms:  Players that are new this season should stop by the uniform table to order a complete uniform for the upcoming season.  We will have sample sizes available for your son to try on to make sure he receives the correct size.  Additionally, returning players can order just shorts or a jersey if different sizing is needed. (Full Uniform = $58, Shorts Only = $20, Jersey Only = $38)  Cash, check or credit cards will be accepted.  If you did not pay for your uniform during the online registration process, you will be able to submit your payment during this time.

Practice Jerseys:  If you are new to the club, your player will get a practice jersey.  If you have a practice jersey that you need to trade in for a different size or one that needs repair, bring your practice jersey with you and visit the jersey trade-in table.  And, if you accidentally lost your practice jersey, a replacement jersey can be purchased for just $5 at the jersey trade-in table. 

September 17th - 1st Grade Level Practice Assessment

  • 4th Grade: 12:30 – 2:00 pm (@ K-Wing) *Please check in at the Main High School Commons prior to 12:30 pm
  • 5th Grade: 12:00 – 1:45 pm (@ VAHS)
  • 6th Grade: 2:00 – 3:45 pm (@ VAHS)
  • 7th Grade: 4:00 – 5:45 pm (@ VAHS)
  • 8th Grade: 6:00 – 7:45 pm (@ VAHS)

*September 23rd - Make Up Assessment

  • 4th-6th Grade: 2:00 – 3:45 pm (@ BRMS)
  • 7th-8th Grade: 4:00 – 5:45 pm (@  BRMS)

* Attendance is strongly encouraged if your son is going to miss one or both grade level practice assessment dates (please do not attend all three sessions)

September 24th - 2nd Grade Level Practice Assessment

  • 4th Grade: 12:30 – 2:00 pm (@ K-Wing) *Check in will occur at the K-wing
  • 5th Grade: 12:00 – 1:45 pm (@ BRMS)
  • 6th Grade: 2:00 – 3:45 pm (@ BRMS)

Wildcat Basketball Club – 2017-2018 League Play

The WBC has made the decision to switch from the Southern Wisconsin Basketball League (SWBL) to the Badger Development League (BDL) for the 2017-2018 season. There were a number of factors that went into this decision, including distance to tournaments, range and level of competition, etc.

The BDL is a local area league that was created by high school basketball coaches from the Badger conference. It provides two divisions per grade level for 3rd-8th grades from community-based clubs like our own. Across all grade levels and divisions, there will be more than 250 teams competing in the league, with the following communities represented:

  • Deforest
  • Stoughton
  • Milton
  • Fort Atkinson
  • Oregon
  • Monona Grove
  • Mineral Point
  • McFarland
  • Columbus
  • Middleton
  • Verona
  • Portage
  • Watertown
  • Monroe
  • Randolph
  • Lodi
  • Beaver Dam
  • Evansville
  • Waunakee

Each grade has two divisions – Badger (more competitive) and Bucky. Our A level teams in 5th-8th grade will have the option to play in the BDL Badger division or forgo the BDL and schedule their own tournaments. All other teams (including all 4th grade teams) will play in the BDL, with the WBC Evaluation Committee determining which teams will play in the Badger and Bucky divisions.

For teams that are participating in the BDL, the WBC provide with funds to support 2 additional outside tournaments. We have confirmed that we can register for individual SWBL tournaments, but the money can be used for any tournament that the team’s coaches choose. For A teams that are not participating in the BDL, the team will be provided with all of their funds, which they can use for their tournament fees.

The BDL schedule will include 6 weekends – 5 for regular season games, with the 6th for the end of season tournament.  Each of the designated weekends that a team is playing, it will play 3 games during a 6-hour block of time on a single day (Saturday or Sunday) at a single host location.   BDL will try to divide up the dates so that teams don't end up playing on all Saturdays or all Sundays, but they can't guarantee an even split. The games run from 8am-7pm on Saturdays and 8am-6pm on Sundays.  The dates of play will be between December 9 and February 25.
